LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros had a strong showing at the recent track and field invitational, delivering commendable performances across various events.
Alyssa Renwick led the Toros in the 100 meters, securing 19th place with a time of 12.57 seconds.
Leloni Ervin followed closely, finishing 25th with a time of 12.82 seconds.
Melandy Davis and
Chantel Palmer completed the event for the Toros, placing 32nd and 39th with times of 13.36 seconds and 15.35 seconds, respectively.
Teloni Ervin represented the Toros in the 400 meters, achieving a 14th place finish with a time of 1:04.46.
The Toros' 4x100 relay team, consisting of
Melandy Davis,
Leloni Ervin,
Teloni Ervin, and
Alyssa Renwick, placed 4th with a time of 49.60 seconds.
Fallon Forman delivered a solid performance in the shot put, finishing 8th with a mark of 9.65 meters (31 feet 8 inches).
The Toros excelled in the javelin throw, with freshman Joe Benoit leading the team with a 5th place finish and a mark of 25.91 meters (85 feet). Zanna Hurst followed in 6th place with a throw of 20.30 meters (66 feet 7 inches).
Katrina Witbeck placed 7th with a mark of 19.27 meters (63 feet 3 inches), while Nala Williams secured 8th place with a throw of 18.70 meters (61 feet 4 inches). Mlia Goldsmith finished 9th with a mark of 16.61 meters (54 feet 6 inches).
Camille Brown and Hosanna Walker rounded out the event for the Toros, placing 10th and 11th with marks of 10.52 meters (34 feet 6 inches) and 9.62 meters (31 feet 7 inches), respectively.
Overall, the Toros demonstrated their competitive edge and are poised to build on these results in their upcoming competitions.
