Toros Open Series Against Biola With Two Wins

LA MIRADA, Calif. – In a commanding doubleheader performance, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros clinched victories in both games against the Biola University Eagles.

Game One

Facing a challenging early deficit, the Toros showcased resilience and determination in the first game against Biola. Despite falling behind with two runs from Biola in the second inning, the Toros quickly turned the tide. Alyssa Aguado's triple in the third inning, followed by a throwing error, fueled the Toros' comeback, bringing in two runs. The Toros continued their offensive surge in the fifth inning, with Jay Ross's double driving in two more runs, followed by Kaylee Hull's RBI single. Mariah Ramirez's pitching tenacity anchored the Toros, allowing only three hits and two earned runs while striking out one batter over seven innings, sealing a 6-2 victory.

Game Two

In the second matchup, the Toros' pitching duo of Ashley Wies and Mariah Ramirez delivered a masterful performance, stifling Biola's offense. Wies took the mound with precision, pitching 5.1 innings of shutout ball, conceding no runs and limiting Biola to five hits while striking out one batter. Ramirez entered in relief, shutting down Biola's attempts to rally, securing the save with 1.2 innings of solid pitching, allowing only one hit. The Toros' offense surged in the fifth inning, ignited by Ramirez's three-run homer to left field, sealing a commanding 3-0 victory and completing the doubleheader sweep.

The Toros return to the Toro Diamond to close out their series against Biola with a doubleheader tomorrow, Friday, April 12th with first pitch set for 12pm.
