CHICO, Calif., - In a tightly contested game the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros edged out Chico State with a 2-1 victory.
The game remained scoreless until the fourth inning when Chico State broke the deadlock for the games first run, putting Chico State ahead 1-0.
The Toros remained resilient, their patience and persistence paying off in the later innings. In the seventh,
Garet Crenshaw delivered a crucial RBI double to left-center, scoring
Anthony Accordino and tying the game at 1-1. This hit not only revitalized the Toros but also shifted the momentum in their favor.
Building on this momentum, the Toros took the lead in the eighth inning when
Jeffrey Ray executed a sacrifice fly to center field, bringing
Grant Decatrel across the plate to score an unearned run and give the Toros a 2-1 lead. T
The Toros' pitching staff and defense held firm against Chico State's attempts to rally back, securing the win with a final score of 2-1.
