TURLOCK, Calif. - The Toros had a dominant as they faced the Simon Frazier Red Leafs and the Western Oregon Wolves in the Tournament of Champions presented by the City of Turlock. These wins give the Toros an overall record of 18-10 and a record of 13-7 in the CCAA conference. Pitcher
Mariah Ramirez had an amazing weekend in the tournament as she led the Toros to 4 wins, for a total of 31 strikeouts.
Game One
For the first game of the day, the Toros had a spectacular performance as they held SFU to 1 run and had 2 RBIs and 8 hits to finish the match. In the first three innings the Toros had exceptional defense, leaving the Red Leafs scoreless. The Toros dominated offensively in the third. Pitcher

Alexis Aguado home. The Toros did not stop there. Slugger
Kaylee Hull doubled to right field and
Mariah Ramirez got to home base on the hit giving Hull an RBI. Going into the fourth inning the Toros led the match 2-0. With the close score, SFU had a chance to tie the match or take the lead at the top of the fourth but the Toros defense negated those efforts. SFU did bring 1 run but their efforts to come back were cut short with their third out. The Toros continued to be resilient as they finished the match with a score of 2-1 against the Simon Frazier Red Flags.
Game Two
In the first meeting with the Western Oregon Wolves this season, the Toros fought a hard battle to come out on top in the second match of the day. With competitiveness from both teams offensively and defensively, the score remained at 0-0 going into the third inning. The Toros found their way at the bottom of the third with
Jay Ross doubling down the left field line, advancing to third base and bringing home
Gaby Gandara. With this score, the Toros led the Wolves 1-0. The Toros had 5 players with 1 RBI:

Jay Ross had an exceptional performance as she had 2 RBIs and 2 hits out of the 3 times she went up to bat. Throughout the match, the Toros dominated defensively with a total of 21 putouts; 11 from Samantha Kwiatowski and 4 putouts each from
Kaylee Hull and
Julisa Gomez. As the match continued, the Toros held Western Oregon Wolves to no runs and ended the match with a final score of 1-0.
The Toros return home to face Cal State San Marcos in a double header on Friday, March 29th at 1pm and 3pm.
