SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros showcased their athletic talent at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Collegiate track meet, with athletes competing across a range of disciplines from sprints to field events.
In the 100 Meters, the Toros had several athletes participating. Freshman
Alyssa Renwick led the team with a notable 17th place finish, showcasing her speed early in her collegiate career. She was followed by sophomores
Leloni Ervin and
Teloni Ervin, who placed 24th and 27th, respectively, demonstrating the depth of the team's sprinting squad.
Chantel Palmer, another sophomore, competed as well, finishing 47th with a time of 16.27 seconds.
The 200 Meters saw
Alyssa Renwick again topping the Toros' performances with a 23rd place finish, recording a time of 26.66 seconds in conditions aided by a 2.2 m/s tailwind.
Leloni Ervin was close behind in 25th place with a time of 26.83 seconds, and
Teloni Ervin finished 33rd, clocking 27.36 seconds, both competing under similar wind conditions.
In the 800 Meters, sophomore
Leticia Soloman represented the Toros, finishing 36th with a time of 2:58.61. Her performance added to the team's representation in middle-distance events.
The field events saw strong performances from Toros' athletes as well. In the Shot Put, sophomore Fallon Forman placed 17th with her best throw of 8.98 meters (29 feet, 5.5 inches), a mark that came from a series of throws showing consistent strength and technique.
In the Javelin, senior
Katrina Witbeck competed valiantly, securing 26th place with a throw of 17.40 meters (57 feet, 1 inch). Her series included a mix of attempts, with her best throw demonstrating her skill and experience in the event.
The Toros next track meet will be this Friday, March 22
nd at the Cal State San Marcos Mangrum Invitational.
