LOS ANGELES, Calif. – In a challenging contest, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros faced off against Cal State LA, ultimately falling with a final score of 5-1.
The game commenced with Cal State LA taking an early lead in the first inning with an RBI single to left-center. The lead was extended in the second inning through a single to center field, driving in a run and setting the score at 2-0.
The Toros managed to claw back into the game in the fourth inning when a wild pitch allowed
Garet Crenshaw to score, bringing the score to a narrow 2-1 margin. This moment offered a glimmer of hope, highlighting the Toros' resilience and ability to capitalize on their opponents' mistakes.
However, Cal State LA continued to build on their lead in the later innings. A single to left field in the sixth inning added an unearned run to their tally. The eighth inning saw a double to right field bringing in two more runs and extending Cal State LA's lead to 5-1.
Crenshaw, who contributed one of the team's four hits, also had a putout in right field. His defensive play, coupled with his ability to score the team's sole run, underscores his all-around contribution to the Toros.
Grant Decatrel, the Toros' catcher, stood out defensively with eight putouts, a testament to his presence behind the plate. First baseman
