Toros Seal Commanding Victory Over Warriors, 10-2

TURLOCK, Calif. – In a spirited display of power, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros overcame an early deficit to defeat the Stanislaus State Warriors with a final score of 10-2.

Stanislaus State initially took the lead in the second inning when they reached on a fielder's choice that brought a run across the plate, followed by a score on a wild pitch during walk. However, their 2-0 advantage was short-lived.

The Toros roared back in the third inning, as Noah Karliner's three-run homer down the left-field line reversed their fortunes, making it 3-2 in favor of Dominguez Hills. The momentum continued with Trey Winget's solo homer in the fifth inning, extending the lead to 4-2.

The sixth inning saw an impressive display of Cal State Dominguez Hills' batting efficiency, with a series of home runs that decisively sealed the game. Garet Crenshaw launched a homer down the right-field line, followed by Winget's second homer to left center, driving in two runs. Emilio Barrera capped off the scoring with a three-run shot to center field, bringing in Karliner and Jeffrey Ray to finalize the score at 10-2.

Brian Kraft, the starting pitcher, earned the win, improving his season record to 2-0. Over six innings, Kraft allowed just two hits and two earned runs, both of which came in the second inning. Despite these early challenges, he maintained composure, striking out six batters and issuing only two walks. Kraft's performance featured one wild pitch among his 94 thrown, but he consistently kept the Stanislaus State batters in check, inducing eight fly outs and four ground outs.

Following Kraft, Derek Ryan took over in the seventh inning. In his one inning of work, Ryan surrendered a hit but prevented any runs from scoring, even as he walked two batters. His short appearance consisted of 21 pitches, contributing to two fly outs and a ground out, maintaining the lead built by the Toros' offense.

Tyler Moniz-Witten closed out the final two innings for Dominguez Hills, delivering a hitless performance with four walks and a strikeout. Moniz-Witten's control was tested, but he kept Stanislaus State from capitalizing on his walks, pitching 35 times to nine batters and ensuring the Toros' defensive effort held firm.

The Toros continue their series against Stanislaus State in Turlock for a doubleheader with first pitch set for 1pm.
