Asia Jordan Surpasses 1000 Career Points Against Chico State

CHICO, Calif.Asia Jordan secured 14 points to surpass 1000 career points in a challenging matchup as the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros fell to Chico State with a final score of 78-67.
 
With this loss, the Toros move to 13-13 overall and 10-10 in conference play, while Chico State now has a record of 19-7 overall and 15-5 CCAA.
 
The game started with Chico State outscoring the Toros 22-15 in the first quarter. The Toros' attempts to narrow the gap were met with resistance as Chico State extended their lead 27-20 in the second quarter, bringing the halftime score to 49-35 in favor of Chico State.
 
Determined to make a comeback, the Toros returned to the court and added 13 points to the scoreboard. In the fourth quarter, the Toros showcased their fighting spirit, outscoring Chico State 19-11. This late surge demonstrated the Toros' refusal to go down without a fight, but the early lead established by Chico State proved too much to overcome. The game concluded with Chico State securing a 78-67 victory.
 
Kylee Edgar led the charge for the Toros with an impressive 21 points, making 8-15 field goals, including four successful shots from beyond the arc out of seven attempts, and securing four rebounds. Edgar's performance was a highlight for the Toros, displaying both scoring efficiency and defensive tenacity with two steals.
 
Asia Jordan contributed significantly with 14 points, hitting 5-10 field goals. Jordan also demonstrated her versatility by grabbing five rebounds and distributing 2 assists, alongside two steals and two blocks, showcasing her all-around game and defensive capabilities.
 
Nala Williams added 11 points for the Toros.  Williams stood out in other facets of her game by pulling down seven rebounds and exerting pressure on the defense with three steals, proving her impact beyond scoring.
 
Malia Goldsmith and Joe'l Benoit provided much-needed support off the bench. Goldsmith scored 10 points, including two three-pointers, and added a steal, while Benoit contributed six points and six rebounds, aiding the team's efforts on both ends of the court.
 
The Toros continue their road trip Saturday, February 24th as they take on Cal Poly Humboldt with tip-off set for 1pm.
