CARSON- The California State University Dominguez Hills Toros baseball team rallied from an early deficit to claim a 6-2 victory over Concordia University Irvine.
The game commenced with both teams showcasing strong defensive skills until the third inning when Concordia University Irvine broke the deadlock. The Eagles would be the first on the board putting them up 1-0. The momentum continued for Concordia as they extended their lead 2-0 after three innings.
However, the Toros responded with vigor in the fourth inning.
Alex Sepulveda ignited the comeback with a single through the left side, bringing
Noah Karliner home and advancing
Anthony Accordino to second. The game then turned in favor of the Toros when
Emilio Barrera advanced to second,
Alex Sepulveda to third, and
Anthony Accordino scored on a wild pitch, evening the score at 2-2.
CJ Masciel delivered a crucial hit, singling through the left side to drive in
Emilio Barrera and
Alex Sepulveda pushing the Toros ahead 4-2.
The Toros continued to build on their lead in the fifth inning with RAY, J. doubling down the third base line, allowing
Trey Winget to score and extend their lead to 5-2. The scoring concluded in the seventh inning when
Anthony Accordino walked with the bases loaded, bringing
CJ Masciel across the plate to secure the 6-2 victory for the Toros.
The Toros return to action tomorrow Friday, February 16
th at 1pm as they continue the series against Concordia University Irvine.
