Toros Dominate San Francisco State for Convincing 81-54 Victory

Carson- In a commanding performance, The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros secured an 81-54 victory over the San Francisco State Gators, showcasing their skill in a game that highlighted both their offensive and defensive strengths.
 
The win improves the Toros' record to 12-11 overall and 9-8 in CCAA, while San Francisco State falls to 5-17, 4-13 in conference play.
 
The game began competitively, with the Toros establishing a narrow 18-15 lead by the end of the first quarter. Their slight edge set the tone for the first half, as they managed to extend their lead to 32-28 by halftime, thanks to consistent play and strategic execution on both ends of the floor.
 
However, it was in the second half that the Toros truly distanced themselves from the Gators. Outscoring San Francisco State 21-10 in the third quarter, CSUDH capitalized on their momentum, demonstrating their ability to dominate both offensively and defensively.
 
The Toros success continued into the fourth quarter, where they erupted for 28 points while holding the Gators to just 16, sealing the emphatic 81-54 victory.
 
Nala Williams led the scoring for the Toros, putting up 15 points in just 16 minutes. Her efficient shooting day (4-8 FG, 1-2 3PT) was complemented by a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line, alongside seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
 
Asia Jordan, demonstrating her skills on both ends of the floor, contributed 14 points on 7-13 shooting and dominated the boards with 11 rebounds. Jordan's ability to control the paint while contributing two assists and a steal showcased her versatility and importance to the team's success.
 
Amaya Snowden added a crucial 11 points in 26 minutes, including a perfect 1-1 from beyond the arc and 2-2 from the charity stripe. her contribution was not just in scoring but also in facilitating the offense, evidenced by her three assists and six rebounds.
 
Joe'l Benoit, another key contributor, efficiently scored 10 points in 19 minutes, making 3-4 shots from the field and 4-4 at the free-throw line. Her performance provided a spark off the bench for the Toros.
 
The Toros are home next week as they host Cal State San Marcos Thursday, February 15th at 5:30pm.
