Toros Overpower Seattle Pacific in Commanding 76-41 Home Victory

CARSON, Calif. — Cal State Dominguez Hills made a statement in their home opener, cruising to a 76-41 victory over Seattle Pacific at the Torodome on Saturday night in the closing game of the CCAA/GNAC crossover. The Toros set the tone early, establishing a commanding lead in the first half and never looking back, improving to 2-0 on the season.

The Toros jumped ahead with an early 9-1 run, fueled by back-to-back three-pointers from Nala Williams and Hosanna Walker. Asia Jordan's fastbreak layup at the 5:20 mark in the first quarter extended the lead to 11-4. Dominguez Hills closed the quarter leading 21-13 and continued to dominate with a 22-6 second-quarter surge, highlighted by Devon Lewis's three-pointer with 8:01 left to push the lead to double digits.

Stat leaders included Asia Jordan, who delivered a strong 13-point performance on 5-for-8 shooting, along with six rebounds and three steals. Nala Williams added 8 points and four assists, while A'moree Ferrel chipped in with nine points off the bench, shooting 2-for-7 from beyond the arc. Cristina Jones also played a pivotal role, collecting a game-high nine rebounds and scoring eight points.

The Toros maintained their defensive intensity throughout, forcing 35 turnovers and capitalizing with 48 points off Seattle Pacific's miscues. Dominguez Hills also controlled the boards with a 40-30 rebounding advantage and scored 30 points in the paint.

Cal State Dominguez Hills (2-0) will next face Point Loma at home on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 5:30 p.m., as they look to continue their strong start.
