HILO, Hawaii — The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros closed out the Big Island Classic in style, earning a 60-43 win over Northern State on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Toros remain undefeated, improving to 8-0 on the season.

The Toros set the tone early with their trademark defense, limiting Northern State to just seven points in the first quarter. A balanced offensive attack helped Dominguez Hills take a 13-7 lead after 10 minutes, with Asia Jordan and Nala Williams leading the charge.

The second quarter saw the Toros continue to stifle the Wolves' offense, holding them to 12 points while adding 14 of their own. Malia Goldsmith's three-pointer with 9:26 left in the period ignited a scoring burst that gave the Toros a 27-19 advantage at the break.

Northern State found some rhythm in the third quarter, scoring 21 points and cutting into the Toros' lead. However, Dominguez Hills responded with timely baskets, including key shots from Kya Pearson and Williams, to outscore the Wolves 18-21 in the frame.

The Toros saved their best for last, holding Northern State to just three points in the fourth quarter. Their defense forced eight turnovers in the period, sealing the win with a 15-3 advantage to close the game.

Nala Williams led the Toros with 14 points, six rebounds, and six steals, while Asia Jordan added 12 points and nine rebounds. Malia Goldsmith chipped in nine points off the bench, shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, and Kya Pearson contributed nine points and three rebounds.

The Toros will return home to the Torodome for a CCAA matchup against Cal State Monterey Bay on Thursday, December 12th, at 5:30 p.m.
