SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.— Cal State Dominguez Hills played to a 1-1 draw against San Francisco State on Sunday at Cox Stadium.
Alyssa Villalobos scored for the Toros in the second half, but a late equalizer from the Gators resulted in a draw.
The Toros created numerous first-half chances, leading in corner kicks 3-1.
Alyssa Villalobos tested the Gators' goalkeeper in the 33rd minute, while
Taya Bohenko took a close-range shot in the 78th minute, forcing a save by San Francisco State's goalkeeper.
Cal State Dominguez Hills opened the scoring in the 59th minute when Villalobos finished off an assist from Bohenko, striking low to the left corner for her third goal of the season, marking her as the team's leading scorer.
San Francisco State equalized in the 86th minute with a a goal of their own. Despite a late push by the Toros, including an attempt from
Makenzie Hewison in the 89th minute, the game ended in a draw.
Goalkeeper
Kylie Yuzon recorded six saves, with key stops in the 32nd and 55th minutes. The Toros outshot the Gators 8-7, with five shots on target.
The Toros will close out their regular season at home against Cal State LA on Thursday, November 7th, at 11:30 a.m.
