Toros Secure Commanding 3-1 Victory Against San Francisco State

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Cal State Dominguez Hills secured a decisive 3-1 win over San Francisco State on Sunday at Cox Stadium, with Mikey McKibbin netting two second-half goals to propel the Toros to victory. With this win, the Toros improves to 8-4-5 overall and remains unbeaten in CCAA competition at 5-0-5.

The Toros set the tone early, taking the lead in the 5th minute when Ramiro Rosas converted a penalty kick following a foul in the box. Rosas's goal marked his third of the season and gave CSUDH an early 1-0 advantage. Gavin Brummer threatened to double the lead just two minutes later, but his shot was saved by Gators' goalkeeper.

San Francisco State responded in the 32nd minute, leveling the score at 1-1.

McKibbin restored the Toros' lead in the 56th minute, slotting a shot past the Gators' goalkeeper to make it 2-1. McKibbin continued his impact in the 78th minute, scoring again to extend the lead to 3-1 and effectively seal the win. Jose Peredia had a late chance to add to the scoreline in the 82nd minute, but his shot was saved.

The Toros outshot the Gators 16-11, with nine of their shots on target. McKibbin led all players with five shots, three on target, while Rosas and Peredia each recorded three attempts. Goalkeeper Arturo Magaña anchored the Toros' defense with three saves, including a crucial stop in the 88th minute to maintain the two-goal cushion.

The Toros will return home in their last game of the regular season to take on Cal State LA Thursday, November 7th, at 2:00pm.
