TURLOCK, Calif. — Alyssa Villalobos scored a hat trick to lead the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros to a 5-2 victory over the Stanislaus State Warriors.
 
The Toros wasted no time getting on the board, with Villalobos scoring her first goal just two minutes into the match, assisted by Azalia Salazar. Villalobos followed up with a shot on goal in the 7th minute that was saved by Stanislaus States goalkeeper, but the early pressure set the tone for the match.
 
The Toros doubled their lead in the 23rd minute when Alyssa Edwards converted off a corner kick from Christine Duarte, putting the Toros up 2-0. Stanislaus State answered back in the 25th minute with a goal. The Toros' defense, anchored by goalkeeper Kylie Yuzon's five saves, held firm for the remainder of the half.
 
The second half saw more Toros' dominance, with Duarte scoring in the 74th minute after an assist from Edwards to make it 3-2, following a Stanislaus equalizer earlier in the half. Villalobos then sealed the game, scoring twice more, first in the 78th minute off an assist from Cheyenne Dohan and again in the 88th minute to complete her hat trick.
 
In total, Cal State Dominguez Hills fired eight shots, with seven on target, and limited Stanislaus State to two goals despite 17 total shots.
 
The Toros close their Northen California road trip this Sunday, October 6^th against Chico State with kick off set for 2pm.
