CARSON — The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros sealed a 3-3 draw in a thrilling match against the Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes at the Dignity Health Sports Park main stadium.

Mikey McKibbin led the way for the Toros with a goal and an assist, as the Toros overcame a two-goal deficit in a high-energy contest.

The Coyotes struck first with a goal in the 16th minute, followed by a strike in the 26th minute to make it 2-0. The Toros responded quickly, with McKibbin firing back in the 33rd minute, assisted by Logan Kaufman, to cut the deficit to 2-1. Just 10 minutes later, Gavin Brummer found the equalizer, finishing a pass from Davien Karanikolas in the 43rd minute to level the score at 2-2 heading i

nto halftime.

The Coyotes regained the lead early in the second half, after netting a goal in the 56th minute. But the Toros would not be denied, as McKibbin's relentless pressure paid off again in the 81st minute, assisting Chris Briseno's goal to tie the match at 3-3.

The Toros outshot CSUSB 24-7, with five of those shots on target. Kaufman and McKibbin led the offensive charge with five shots, while Brummer added two shots. CSUDH earned 11 corner kicks to keep the pressure on CSUSB's defense throughout the game.

Goalkeeper Arturo Magaña made two key saves, including a close-range effort by CSUSB in the 78th minute to help preserve the draw.

With the tie, the Toros move to 5-4-3 overall and 2-0-3 in conference play. CSUDH will look to build on this performance in their next match against Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday, October 20th, at 2 p.mv
