CARSON — The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros secured a solid 71-61 victory over the Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks in a game that showcased their early dominance and determination to maintain a lead.

The Toros went undefeated this week and now stand with a CCAA record of 8-2 and overall record of 13-3. After the closing of CCAA competition today, the Toros are now tied for first place in the conference standings. The Lumberjacks record now stands at 0-10; 3-12 in the CCAA conference.

The Toros set the tone from the outset, establishing a commanding presence in the first half. They outscored Cal Poly Humboldt 42-26, demonstrating a balanced attack and tight defense. This strong start gave them a significant advantage heading into halftime.

In the second half, Cal Poly Humboldt attempted a comeback, outscoring the Toros 35-29. However, the deficit from the first half proved too large to overcome. The Toros' early lead allowed them to weather the resurgence from Humboldt, ultimately holding on for a 10-point win.
