Toros Downed By Otters in Home Matchup, 2-0

CARSON — The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros fought strenuously but ultimately were left scoreless in a 2-0 loss to Cal State Monterey Bay Otters.

The Otters took the lead late in the first half, with a goal in the 43rd minute. The second goal came just after the halftime break, for the Otters in the 54th minute.

The midfield was orchestrated by the likes of Brandon Lee and Jhoel Sarraude, who managed to carve out opportunities, taking two and three shots respectively.

Martin Velasquez and Junior Happi also made noteworthy contributions, each taking a shot on goal. Diego Barahona and Zane Baumgardt were relentless at the back, providing crucial defensive interventions and also adding a shot on goal each to the Toros' offensive endeavor.

While Lee and Sarraude were proactive in their offensive play, Diego Barahona and Zane Baumgardt were steadfast in their defensive duties, contributing significantly to the structural integrity of the Toros' defense line. They tackled the penetrating moves of Monterey Bay with vigor, maintaining the equipoise of the defense line.

Goalkeeper Sebastian Ascencio was a formidable presence between the posts, making four critical saves across 90 minutes.

The Toros make their return to the Toro Stadium on Sunday, October 1st as they face the San Francisco State Gators for a 2pm kickoff.
