CARSON — The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros scored back-to-back goals at the jump of the second half, but were later matched by two goals from the San Francisco Gators to end the match in a 2-2 draw.
The first half saw both teams demonstrating solid defensive strategies, with neither able to gain an advantage, resulting in a 0-0 scoreboard at the break.
The Toros sprang into action immediately after the resumption, with
Diego Barahona, assisted by
Martin Velasquez, breaking the deadlock in the 49th minute. Their momentum didn't stop there;
Christian Briseno, propelled by assists from
Logan Kaufman and
Chunghwan Lee, found the back of the net in the 50th minute, to take the lead, 2-0.
Despite the quick succession of goals by CSUDH, the Gators answered back with a goal in the 79th minute followed by another to tie the game in the 80th minute. There would not be enough time remaining for the Toros to score, as the game ended in a tie, 2-2.
Diego Barahona, who played for 70 minutes, made a significant impact by scoring one goal on the single shot attempt. Other key contributors for CSUDH included
Brandon Lee and
Logan Kaufman, each with five shots and two on target.
The defensive and midfields were fortified by the presence of
Ndifor Ginyui,
Martin Velasquez, and
Zane Baumgardt, who played the full 90 minutes, ensuring stability and control in their respective areas.
Arturo Magana, the goalkeeper, made five crucial saves throughout the 90 minutes of play, ensuring the Toros stayed within sight.

th as they face Cal State San Marcos with kickoff set for 3pm.
