CARSON — The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros, stood strong in a thrilling match against the No. 2 Cal State LA Golden Eagles, ultimately concluding with a well-earned 1-1 draw.

The Golden Eagles hit the back of the net first with a goal at 33:38. The Toros evened the score when Jhoel Sarraude produced a penalty kick goal at 72:29, after contributing five shot attempts, with two on target.

Sarraude's efforts were complemented by Martin Velasquez's significant presence in the midfield, leading five impactful shots with two on target and contributing to the field for 85 minutes. The steadfastness of Diego Barahona and Zane Baumgardt in the defense, coupled with goalkeeper Sebastian Ascencio's ninety-minute vigil at the net, were crucial elements in the rivalry matchup.

Midfielders Jesus Virgen and Logan Kaufman, along with defender Ndifor Ginyul, were the backbone of our tactical execution, their commitment and skill keeping CSUDH in contention throughout the match.

The Toros next match is on Friday, September 29th against Cal State Monterey Bay at Toro Stadium with kickoff set at 7pm.
