Box Score CARSON - The No. 4 seed Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros dominated in their game against the No. 5 seed Cal State Monterey Bay Otters, winning 8-3 on Wednesday afternoon at Toro Diamond.

After the game went scoreless in the first two innings, the Otters managed to score first with a single to first base by in the third inning. In the following inning, the Otters extended their lead to 3-0 with a two-run single.

The Toros responded in the bottom of the fourth inning, with
Kaylee Hull driving in a run with a single to left field.
Nayah Pola then followed with a sacrifice fly, driving in another run, before
Sydney Diaz scored on a throwing error by the catcher to tie the game at 3-3.
Maiya Lopez then hit a two-run homer to center field, giving the Toros a 5-3 lead.

CSUDH added to its lead in the fifth inning, with
Raquel Jaime hitting a sacrifice fly to left field, bringing
Jay Ross across the plate.
Alani Nguyen then hit a double down the left field line, driving in two more runs and extending the Toros' lead to 8-3.

Ashley Wies held the mound for the Toros, allowing three runs on nine hits while striking out six in 3.2 innings of relief.

With this win, the Toros improve their record to 32-16, and continue in the CCAA Softball Tournament as they face No. 2 seed Cal State San Bernardino at 1pm tomorrow at Toro Diamond.
