Box Score LONG BEACH, Calif. – In a challenging matchup, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros fell to Long Beach State with a final score of 78-107 in their final exhibition match of the season.
The Toros started the game with a solid first half, putting up 42 points, but Long Beach State took the lead early, finishing the half with a commanding 62 points. In the second half, the Toros added 36 points to their total, but Long Beach State extended their lead by scoring 45 more points to close the game with a final score of 78-107.
Jeremy Dent-Smith led the Toros in scoring with 21 points, shooting efficiently from the field at 6-12 and hitting four out of seven attempts from three-point range. He also contributed six rebounds and four assists.
Jordan Hilstock and
Jacob Washington, each added 13 points to the Toros' effort. Hilstock was particularly effective from beyond the arc, sinking 4 of 8 three-pointers, while Washington was active on the boards, grabbing six rebounds.
Also scoring in double digits was
DJ Guest who contributed 11 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
Jakob Alamudun added nine points on 4-8 shooting.
Despite these individual performances, the Toros were unable to match the scoring output of Long Beach State. The team will look to improve on their 39.7% field goal shooting and 25% three-point shooting as they move forward.
The Toros continue to show consistency on the free-throw line as they secured a 71.4% free-throw shooting percentage.
