Toros Take Commanding Victory Over Golden Eagles, 60-42

CARSON – In the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros' impressive 60-42 victory over the Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles, several players emerged as key contributors, leading the team with standout performances.
 
The Toros set the tone early, outscoring CUI 24-11 in the first quarter. Their aggressive defense and efficient offense provided a solid foundation for the rest of the game. The second quarter saw a dip in scoring for both teams, with the Toros adding six points, as they maintained their lead, finishing the half ahead 30-18.
 
In the third quarter, the Toros regained their offensive rhythm, extending their lead with 16 points to CUI's 11. The final quarter continued in similar fashion, with the Toros adding 14 points to CUI's 13, securing their win with a final score of 60-42.
 
Asia Jordan led the Toros both offensively and on the boards. She scored a game-high 20 points, shooting an efficient 10-14 from the field. Jordan also dominated the rebounding, pulling down 14 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass, for a double-double and contributed with four assists and three blocks, showcasing her all-around impact on the game.
 
Adding 10 points and seven rebounds for the Toros was Amaya Snowden. Snowden's contribution was critical in maintaining the Toros' offensive flow, and her defensive presence was highlighted by a block.
 
Malia Goldsmith scored seven points and led the team with five assists. Her defensive effort was crucial for the Toros as she recorded four steals, helping disrupt CUI's offensive rhythm.
 
Kylee Edgar contributed eight points and four rebounds, providing valuable support off the bench. Her scoring efficiency and presence on the boards added depth to the Toros' lineup.
 
Joe'l Benoit, also scored seven points, including two three-pointers, and contributed two rebounds and three assists. These individual efforts, combined with a strong team defense that resulted in 12 steals and limited CUI to 42 points, were key to the Toros' commanding victory.
 
The Toros return to the Torodome this Saturday, November 18th as they take on La Sierra University at 7pm.
