CHICO, Calif. – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros displayed a spirited effort in their four-set match against the Chico State Wildcats, falling 3-1.
Ava Hurry led the team in scoring with 13 kills, registering a notable hitting percentage of .313. Hurry's all-around play was impressive, as she also contributed 17 digs, adding a service ace and 15.0 points to her tally.
Another dominant force for the Toros was
Kayly Pau who delivered a strong performance with 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .229. Pau also contributed with six digs and a total of 13.0 points.
Bailey Fuches orchestrated the offense with 20 assists, alongside six kills and seven digs. Fuches' performance was crucial in setting up the team's attacking plays, scoring a total of 8.0 points.
Outstanding in defense end was
Nina Robles as she amassed a high of 29 digs and had five assists on the game.
Teagan Irish also had a notable performance with six kills, hitting at a .300 percentage, and contributed three block assists, earning her 7.5 points.
Other contributors included
Jesi Diekmann, who had four digs, a solo block and three kills, and
Cassie Taylor, who added a service ace and seven digs.
The Toros face their final opponent of the 2023 season tomorrow November 11
th at 2pm as they take on Stanislaus State in Turlock.
