HAYWARD – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros couldn't find their mark against the Cal State East Bay Pioneers, succumbing to a 2-0 defeat.
Both teams remained goalless after the opening half, but the tide shifted in favor of the Pioneers in the second period, where they managed to net twice. The Toros, despite displaying offensive intent, were kept at bay throughout the encounter.
For CSUDH, midfielder
Logan Kaufman led the offensive efforts with four shots, three of which were on target. He was closely followed by midfielder
Jhoel Sarraude also managed four shots. On the defensive end, goalkeeper
Sebastian Ascencio made four saves over the 90-minute match.
Diego Barahona and
Brandon Lee also contributed to the offensive efforts with three and two shots respectively, but CSUEB's defense stood firm, denying the Toros any scoring opportunities.
The Toros take on the Cal State San Bernardino Yotes on Thursday, October 12
th with kickoff set for 3pm on Premier Field.
