Toros Take First Set Before Falling To Yotes, 3-1

CARSON - The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros toppled the Cal State San Bernardino Yotes in the first set, before dropping the last three sets to the Yotes leading to a 3-1 loss on the road. 
 
In the opening set, the Toros seized the momentum, securing a 25-23 victory. The last three sets the Yotes won, 25-13, 25-15, and 25-11 as CSUSB took the overall victory, 3-1.
 
Kayly Pau emerged as a powerhouse for the Toros, demonstrating exceptional offensive effort. Pau recorded 11 kills, making a significant impact on the team's scoring efforts. Her tenacity at the net and ability to find openings in the opposing defense were crucial throughout the match. Pau's performance earned her 12.5 points, including three blocks.
 
Bailey Fuches orchestrated the Toros' offense with precision, delivering 15 assists. Fuches also contributed defensively with eight digs and added 7.5 points to the team's total. Her skillful setting and versatility on the court were instrumental in the Toros' performance.
 
Evania Sanchez shared setting duties with Fuches, recording 12 assists and contributing one point with a well-placed kill. In the backcourt, Nina Robles exhibited her agility as a defensive specialist, amassing an impressive 14 digs.
 
Ava Hurry made her presence felt with four kills, while also contributing defensively with eight digs and three blocks.
 
The Toros continue their weekend on the road as they take on the San Francisco State Gators Saturday, October 28th in San Francisco with first serve set for 1pm.
