CARSON – In an intense face-off, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros triumphed over the Cal State East Bay Pioneers, wrapping up the contest in four sets on.
 
The match opened with the Toros narrowly clinching the first set 27-25, subsequently carrying that momentum into the second set with a 25-23 win. Cal State East Bay managed to find their rhythm in the third, securing a 25-19 victory. But the Toros made a decisive comeback in the fourth set, taking it 25-22 and ensuring an overall win.
 
Kayly Pau led the charge for the Toros, tallying an impressive 14 kills with a .324 hitting percentage, and contributing 15.5 points to the team's tally. Not far behind, Jesi Diekmann put up 10 kills at a notable .348 efficiency, amassing 13 points.
 
Teagan Irish and Bailey Fuches also had commendable performances, recording 12 kills each, with Irish adding 14.5 points and Fuches contributing 14 points, alongside her notable 27 assists. In the backcourt, Nina Robles was a defensive linchpin with a staggering 24 digs.
 
The Toros return to the Torodome tomorrow, Saturday, October 21^st as they take on the Monterey Bay Otters at 3pm.
