CARSON — In an electrifying showdown, Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros secured a 2-2 draw against the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos.
Leading the attack for the Toros was
Jhoel Sarraude, who managed four shots, with one on target, and importantly, scored a vital goal for the team from an assist
George Charles Jr. and
Brandon Lee.
Not far behind,
Martin Velasquez took three shots with one finding the mark, and he too, netted a goal that contributed to the draw of an assist by
Logan Kaufman. Other notable performances in the offensive department came from
Brandon Lee and
Nick Walker, each with two shots.
In the midfield,
Logan Kaufman was influential, setting up a goal, while
George Charles Jr. was pivotal in both defense and offense, registering an assist and taking a shot on goal. On the defensive side,
Esteban Ojeda and
George Charles Jr. played the full 90 minutes, ensuring solidity at the back.
Goalkeeper Arturo Magana played the entire game and was crucial in organizing the defense adding five saves to his stat sheet.
The Toros return to the Toro Stadium on Friday Oct. 20
