Dawnyel Lair scored the first basket of the game en route to her team-high 25-point outburst, and the No. 4/6 Toros never looked back in cruising to a convincing 83-54 win over visiting Stanislaus State to kick off the week's homestand.
Cal State Dominguez Hills remains perfect at 19-0 overall, climbing to 13-0 in the CCAA.
The Toros dominated the stat categories, boasting a higher FG percentage and more rebounds, and completely out-Warriored them in steals (+12), assists (+9), turnovers (-13), 3-pointers made (+6), and hitting 15-of-16 from the charity stripe, with 39 of CSUDH's points coming via points off turnovers.
After scoring the games first six points, the hosts pushed their lead to 20-12 with just over three minutes left in the first quarter, and to 24-13 two minutes later after a Lair fastbreak basket.
A pair of Lair free throws to open the next period gave the Toros a 26-13 lead, with a
Nala Williams triple at the 7:40 mark to give CSUDH a 35-14 advantage, turning the contest into a runaway as the Toros entered the break up 44-25.
Keeping their foot on the gas, CSUDHÂ led by as much as 26 on two occasions in the third quarter before a Lair basket made it 61-33 at the 2:49 mark, finishing the period up 28 points after another Lair basket.
CSUDH's lead reached 30 as the final quarter began, until an
Auren Isaacson triple with 1:44 left in the regulation gave the Toros their biggest lead of the night at 83-52, eventually settling for the 29-point win.
Williams chipped in 16 points and Lair a game-high 10 boards to give her the game's lone double-double.
CSUDH will conclude its homestand on Saturday as Chico State pays Carson a visit, with tip set for 1 pm in the Torodome.
