Women's Soccer Falls to Cal State San Marcos at Home

CARSON – The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team returned home Friday still in search for the team's first win of the season. That will have to wait another day as Cal State San Marcos scored in the 51st minute for the match's only goal at Toro Stadium.
 
Although the Toros were defeated, they did tally 10 shots, marking only the third time this season the Toros have reached double digits in that column.
 
Alyssa Newsom had to make two of the Toros' three saves on the evening.
 
Dominguez Hills came close to finding the back of the net in 13th minute. Lexi Howard took a free kick from the top of the box that went above the wall but arched over the crossbar.
 
San Marcos' Sierra Moore scored the lone goal of the match.
 
The Toros welcome Cal State San Bernardino to Toro Stadium Sunday in a extremely rare 2:30 p.m. kickoff time.
