McKibbin Nets Hat Trick to Highlight No. 10 Toros Second-Half Domination Over Saint Martin's

MONMOUTH, Ore. – Coming off scoring the match-winner in Friday's win, Michael McKibbin walked back into Western Oregon's campus Sunday and delivered a hat trick to give No. 10 Cal State Dominguez Hills a 4-0 dominating win over Saint Martin's to wrap up the weekend road trip.

The Toros end the weekend at 6-0, the best performance from the beginning of the season since the 2008 national championship team won seven straight.

Sunday's match also wraps up the true non-conference schedule featuring opponents outside the CCAA. The Toros return home to play a pre-conference tune-up with their travel partner Cal State Monterey Bay Saturday in a rare 3 p.m. start. That match will be held at the Dignity Health Sport Park's practice field known as Field #3.

Dominguez Hills also recorded its fourth shutout of the season and has only allowed two goals thus far into the season. It is the first full-credited shutout for goalkeeper Frank Aguilar, who need to make only two saves on five total shots.

On the other side, the Toros dominated the attack with 28 total shots, 10 on goal.

McKibbin's first goal came in the 58th minute. Aguilar made a perfect punt across midfield to Sulaiman Bah, who made a fastbreak to the right side of the goal. He made a cross to McKibbin in the box for the one-touch shot into the net.

McKibbin's second goal arrived in the 70th minute. Martin Velasquez fed a through ball to McKibbin, who broke away to force a one-on-one with the keeper, who he beat for the match's second goal.

A minute later, Kenny Lee delivered a perfect cross into the box for Christian Breseno to head in the match's third goal.

McKibbin completed the hat trick in the 74th minute. He dribbled from the left side playing one-on-one with the defender and delivered a shot once inside the goal box.
