Men's Basketball Gets One Final Workout in Turlock Before CCAA Tourney

Box Score TURLOCK – The Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketball team entered Saturday's matchup with Stanislaus State knowing it will go to its fifth straight CCAA Tournament appearance starting next week as the No. 5 seed. Playing in what was a pre-tournament tune-up the Toros fell to the Warriors 77-58 at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena to wrap up the regular season.
 
The Toros finish the regular season 13-10 overall and 10-7 in the CCAA. As the five seed, Dominguez Hills will be taking on No. 4 Cal State Monterey Bay at Lumberjack Arena on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt Thursday at 8 p.m. with the winner meeting CCAA regular-season champions Cal State San Bernardino in the semifinal on Saturday.

Playing in his final regular-season game, Colten Kresl set up his resumé for another first-team All-CCAA bid as well as player of the year. He scored 16 points to finish with an average of 15.3 points and shot 39 percent from the field. He also made 67 three-point baskets, good enough for second-most in the conference.
 
Hunter Seymour led the effort on the glass with 11 of the Toros' 41 rebounds.
 
The Toros as a team ended the night shooting 32.4 percent.
 
Stanislaus State, eliminated from playoff contention, made senior night memorable for Luis Salgado, hitting 44.4 percent of its shots. Tony Singleton led the way for the Warriors by scoring 21 points.
 
Although Dominguez Hills went into halftime leading 30-28, it did take a 10-point lead at the 16:31 mark in the second period. The Warriors responded with a 14-2 run to take a 45-40 lead with 12:31 left and stay in front the rest of the game.
