Box Score CARSON -- Senior Colten Kresl walked out to center court with his family in tow as one of three seniors recognized prior to tonight's regular season home finale against visiting San Francisco State, and then proceeded to post the game's lone double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds as Cal State Dominguez Hills secured a berth in the upcoming CCAA postseason tournament by besting the Gators, 67-56, in front of a raucous Homecoming crowd in the Torodome.

The Toros stay in 5th place in the CCAA standings, with the top six qualifying for the tournament that starts in two weeks.Though the Toros await to hear the conference officially tell them they are in, mathematically they are to guarantee a spot to the upcoming postseason.

Not more than five points separated the two teams in a tense first half of play, until a DJ Guest jumper gave the hosts a 28-22 lead with exactly 4:00 left in the first 20 minutes of play.

After the Gators trimmed that lead to just three, Andre Ball scored four-consecutive points to close the half, giving CSUDH a 32-25 lead at the break.

A monstrous dunk by D'Mauria Jones to open the second half set the tone for the home team as the lead reached 12 points on three occasions over the next 10 minutes of play.

Kresl gave the Toros a 49-36 edge on a smooth triple, which David Cheatom followed with a bucket of his own to push the lead to 15 at 51-36.

The lead hovered around double digits the rest of the way, with the Toros winning by an eventual 67-56 count.

Cheatom led all scorers with 18 points, while the Toro bench accounted for 32 points, compared to just 19 for the visitors.

CSUDH takes to the road next week for final two games of the regular season, beginning at Chico on Thursday.
