CARSON – With Thanksgiving just two days away, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team got an early feasting Tuesday in a 92-32 home-opening win over Lincoln.
The Toros improve to 4-0, marking the first time since the 2003-04 season they start the season off like that.
Asia Jordan scored 18 points, including 10 in the second half, and grabbed six rebounds.
Deejanae Poland and
Kelsey Bell both had 11 points and
Nala Williams and
Danyell Booker each had 10.
The Toros as a team hit 44 percent of their shots.
Dominguez Hills did all the damage in the opening quarter, outscoring the Oaklanders 22-3. The Toros jumped ahead to a 15-0 start nearly halfway into the period. The Toros would go into intermission leading 48-17.
The Toros will get to feast on Thanksgiving dishes and will use Friday to recover from a Turkey coma and prepare for CCAA play against the defending tournament champions Cal State East Bay. The two will tipoff Saturday at 1 p.m.
