CARSON – The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team returned home after a double-overtime win two days ago but seem to can't bring that momentum home as the Toros fell 2-0 to Concordia (Calif.) at Dignity Health Sports Park's Field #3 to keep the Toros winless on campus.
The Toros (2-2) got off to a promising start by taking five of their 13 total shots within the first 17 minutes. The Eagles second shot in the 19
th minute came on a mistake in the box by goalkeeper
Alyssa Newsom, who couldn't cover the ball and saw it slip by her for Olivia Ocampo to slot it into an empty net.
The Eagles (1-1) got their second goal on a penalty kick in 67
th minute.
The Toros couldn't quite find any offensive momentum the entire match, even though both sides' 13 shots were nearly balanced between halves. The Toros won the shot column 8-7 in the first 45 minutes while the Eagles took the back end of the match 6-5.
The non-conference schedule wraps up this week at Toro Stadium, starting with Azusa Pacific Thursday at 5 p.m.
