Longtime Program Records Fall in Toros 111-13 Win Over Bethesda

CARSON – The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team opened up the program record book and either set or tied new records in a 111-13 blowout victory over Bethesda in the final non-conference game of the season Saturday afternoon.

Going into the record books are:
  • Most points scored in a game (111)
  • Largest margin of victory (98)
  • Fewest points in a quarter (0)
  • Fewest points in a half (1)
  • Fewest points allowed in a game (13) – also a CCAA record
  • Most steals in a game (37)
  • Danyell Booker – steals (10) – ties Nautica Morrow's record
Dominguez Hills came up one field goal short from tying that record that had been set in 1978, which was also the previous record for most points scored set in a game.

Asia Jordan led the way with 25 points. Amaya Snowden and Dawnyel Lair each had a points-rebound double-double and Booker, Snowden had 17 points and 11 boards while Lair had a 16-point, 11-rebound day. In addition to the 10 steals, Booker had 14 points to complete a rare points-steals double-double.

The Toros also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Flames 54-15.

Bethesda only got one point the entire first half, a free throw in the first quarter. The Flames ended up scoring six points in both the third and fourth quarters.

Dominguez Hills' season-long six-game homestand continues as the Toros welcome Cal State San Bernardino Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
