BAKERSFIELD – The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team got one last workout before they officially tip off their return to the floor since 2019-20.
Auren Isaacson scored 17 points and
Deejanae Poland contributed to 10 as the Toros fell in 88-55 in an exhibition matchup at Cal State Bakersfield Friday evening.
Asia Jordan came up both a point and rebound short from a double-double.
More than half of Isaacson's 17 points came from free throws, making 9-of-10 on the line.
The Toros shot 31 percent from the field and showed strength on the glass after narrowly being edged in the rebound column 40-36 by the Runners.
For Bakersfield, which was predicted by the Big West Conference to finish sixth this season, was led by Jayden Eggleston and Lexus Green, who both had an 18-point performance. No Roadrunner reached double figures in the rebound column.
Fifth-year head coach
John Bonner will be taking his brand-new roster to Cal State LA to open the season next week, where they will join the Golden Eagles in a CCAA/PacWest Showdown with Concordia and Biola. The opener with Concordia is Friday at noon.
