CARSON –
Asia Jordan scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for a double-double,
Auren Isaacson contributed to 19 points and
Kelsey Bell added 13 as the trio and the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team came up just short of beating NCAA Division I CSUN 72-67 in an exhibition game Monday night.
Trailing 33-25 at halftime, the Toros kept pace with the Matadors and ended up outscoring them in the fourth quarter 23-17.
Kelsey Bell had nine of the 23 points, Isaacson had four. A 16-7 run by the Toros cut the deficit down to four with 36 seconds left. It was during the run that Dominguez Hills hit four of its five field goals from 3-point range.
The Toros ended up shooting 34 percent on the night, making half of their 18 successful field goals from beyond the arc. CSUN hit 41.5 percent of its shots from the field.
After more than 600 days, Dominguez Hills (0-2) open the home schedule Thursday, hosting Point Loma. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
