Make That Six Straight Wins for No. 20 Men's Soccer

CARSON – Danny Hernandez scored in the 14th minute for the match's only goal, and it proved to be enough for 20th-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer to beat SF State at Toro Stadium Sunday for their sixth straight win.

The win bumps Dominguez Hills' overall record to an impressive 8-1-1. But more importantly, the Toros remained a perfect 6-0-0 in CCAA play to keep pace with No. 13 Cal State LA, which was also victorious at Cal State San Bernardino, setting up a Top 25 battle on the CSUDH campus Friday at 7 p.m. The new United Soccer Coaches Top 25 will be released on Tuesday.

Dominguez Hills' win also marks some firsts in a long time. The last time the Toros have won six straight was in 2015, which they had done on two different occasions, and the 6-0-0 start to conference play is the best since 2000, the year the program won its first of two national championships.

Hernandez's goal in the 14th minute was a beauty. Sulaiman Bah delivered a corner kick from the right side and it initially was headed first by David Aguilera, who collided with a Gator defender and saw the ball deflect near the left post. However, Hernandez leaped and got the side of his right foot just before the keeper got to it to knock it in.

While the Toros outshot the Gators 14-13, Dylan De Baldo and Francisco Aguilar combined for seven saves to split the shutout credit.
