CARSON – The Cal State Dominguez Hills volleyball team went toe-to-toe with the reigning NCAA Division champions Cal State San Bernardino in the Torodome Friday night, only the 12
th-ranked Coyotes howled the Toros in three sets (12-25, 20-25, 14-25).
Bailey Fuches led the effort for the Toros (0-10, 1-4 CCAA) with a six-kill, nine assist, six-dig evening.
Coco Ikpe collected five points on the attack while
Renee Wheeler added four.
Angelina Cabal rolled a lucky seven by making that many assists and digs.
Jenna Sandall, who donned the libero jersey for the first time, made 13 digs.
San Bernardino (10-3, 5-0 CCAA) was led by Alexis Cardoza. The reigning National Player of the Year hit 36 percent but made a dozen kills and stretched for eight digs.
The Toros' weekend doesn't get any easier as 21
st-ranked Cal Poly Pomona visits the Torodome Saturday at 6 p.m. The Broncos come to Carson after being handed their first loss of the season to Cal State LA in four sets.
