ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Cal State Dominguez Hills softball team swept the first day of the Dixie State Courtyard Classic, Thursday at Canyons Softball Complex. The Toros defeated Concordia Portland 5-4 in walk-off fashion and Northwest Nazarene 5-1.

With the two wins, the Toros move to 5-2 overall.Â

CSUDH 5, CUP 4
Down 4-2, CSUDH scored two in the bottom of the sixth to even the score and one in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off 5-4 win over Concordia Portland. Freshman
Clarisa Ramirez threw the first 2.1 innings, before sophomore
Ashley Wies came in relief for the next 4.1. Junior
Alyssa Olague (3-1) threw the final 0.1 inning and got the win. Junior
Kelcy Telles went 1-for-3 with two runs, while
Raquel Jaime hit 2-for-4 with one run. Freshman
Kaylee Hull went 3-for-4 with two RBI, senior
Jade Loe was 2-for-3 with a run and freshman
Dafne Bravo homered.

The Cavaliers scored one in the top of the first before the Toros responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame as Telles scored on an error. Concordia plated two in the top of the second to take a 3-1 lead. Freshman
Dafne Bravo homered to cut the margin to one, but the Cavaliers got a homer of their own to make it a two-run game.

CSUDH rallied to tie it up in the bottom of the sixth. Jaime doubled and came in on Hull's RBI hit. Junior
Karlee Rivera pinch ran for Hull and came home on Loe's single to the outfield. In the bottom of the seventh, Telles reached on a hit by pitch, advanced to second as senior
Jessica Lane drew a walk and took third on Jaime's single. Hull came in clutch once again with another RBI hit to the outfield to end the contest.

CSUDH 5, NNU 1
The Toros got two home runs and Olague threw a one-run complete game en route to a 5-1 win over Northwest Nazarene. Olague (4-1) threw her fourth complete game of the season, tossing all seven innings, while striking out four.

CSUDH got on the board in the second inning. Hull was hit by a pitch and junior
Chloe Wenger bunted for a single. Senior
Kendelle Messersmith hit a three-run home run to left center as the Toros took a 3-0 lead. CSUDH added one in the fourth as Bravo singled and, took second on a wild pitch and went to third on a sacrifice bunt from Messersmith. Telles hit a RBI single to make it 4-0. The Nighthawks got a run back in the bottom of the fifth, but not before the Toros responded in the top of the seventh as freshman
Alex Davis hit one over the left field fence.
