CARSON - Cal State Dominguez Hills split a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) softball doubleheader with San Francisco State, Saturday at Toro Diamond. The Toros won the first game 9-1 in five innings and fell in game two 9-3. Combined with Friday's results, CSUDH wins the four-game series over the Gators 3-1.

CSUDH 9, SFSU 1 (5 inn.)
The Toros hit four homers, two by Jade Loe, to defeat SF State 9-1 in five innings. Junior Alyssa Olague threw the first inning, retiring three in a row. Sophomore Ashley Wies came in relief for the next four and earned her fourth win of the year, striking out four in the process.

CSUDH scored two in the first inning. Senior Chenoa Au hit a single up the middle and fellow senior Jade Loe hit one over the wall in right center.
After the Gators got one in the top of the third, the Toros responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame. Senior Jessica Lane and junior Raquel Jaime got consecutive hits and Au hit her third home run of the series to give CSUDH the 5-1 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Lane hit a single and Au drew a walk. Loe hit her second home run of the game to left field. Freshman Dafne Bravo, on the very next pitch, hit one out of the park to make it an eight-run margin and end the contest via run rule.

The Toros fell in the series finale by six runs. CSUDH could only muster three runs, all coming in the first frame. Jaime hit a single and Au drew a walk. Bravo hit her second home run in as many at bats to give CSUDH an early 3-0 lead.
The Gators responded with one run in the second, two in the third and six in the fourth for a 9-3 lead. The Toros were able to load the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but could not get any runs across and fell by six.
