CARSON - Cal State Dominguez Hills earned a pair of one-run wins against San Francisco State by scores of 6-5 and 4-3, in eight innings, in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) softball doubleheader, Friday at Toro Diamond.

CSUDH improves to 13-5 overall and 6-2 in the CCAA. The Gators drop to 11-10 overall and 7-7 in conference play.

The two teams will conclude the four-game series on Saturday, Feb. 29 with another doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.

CSUDH 6, SFSU 5
Senior
Chenoa Au hit two home runs to lead CSUDH to a 6-5 win in game one. Junior
Alyssa Olague threw the first inning, was relieved by sophomore
Ashley Wies in the second and came back in with one out in the top of the sixth. Wies (3-2) earned the win and Olague recorded her fourth save of the season.

The Gators took an early 1-0 lead, but the Toros answered back with an Au home run to right center in the bottom of the first to even the score. CSUDH took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Senior
Jade Loe hit a single and came all the way home as freshman
Maddy Ybarra induced a SFSU error. Ybarra touched home plate on a wild pitch.

The Toros added three more in the top of the fifth. Freshmen
Dafne Bravo and
Alex Davis each drew a walk. Au crushed it once again to right center to give CSUDH a 6-1 lead. The Toros gave up four runs on four hits and an error in the top of the sixth as SFSU cut the margin to one. Olague was able to retire the batters in order in the top of the seventh to preserve the win.

CSUDH 4, SFSU 3 (8 inn.)
The Toros collected their fourth walk-off, eighth one-run game win and fourth extra-inning game and defeated SFSU 4-3 in eight innings.

Freshman Caarisa Ramirez threw the first inning, Wies the next 5.1 and Olague came in and closed the game.

There was no score until the fourth inning. Senior
Jessica Lane reached on a fielder's choice and Bravo homered to left field to give CSUDH a 2-0 lead. With one out in the top of the seventh, the Gators scored two runs on two hits and one Toro error to tie the game.

SFSU took the lead in the top of the eighth with a home run over the center field wall, but not before CSUDH responded with two in the bottom of the frame to walk it off. Junior
Karlee Rivera hit a single and was pinch ran for by Ybarra. Ybarra advanced to second on Lane's hit and came in on Bravo's RBI up the middle. Davis ended the game with a single to score Lane. Â
