SAN BERNARDINO - Helmed by its senior class, Cal State Dominguez Hills took down Cal State San Bernardino by a final score of 74-68 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) women's basketball matchup, Thursday at Coussoulis Arena.

The Toros (7-8, 4-5 CCAA) were led by senior
Ahlisha Henderson, who nearly had a double-double, with 17 points and eight rebounds. Fellow seniors
Alzena Henry,
Jasmine Phoolka and
Destinee Williams pitched in 14, 11 and 11 points, respectively. Phoolka also had five rebounds and four assist, while Williams matched Henderson with eight boards. Ashlynn Sharp was the leading point scorer for CSUSB (1-11, 1-8 CCAA) with 26 points.

CSUDH maintained control from start to finish and did not trail the Coyotes for the whole game. The Toros sported a four-point advantage, 20-16, after the opening 10 minutes. CSUSB got to within one point, twice, in the second quarter, but CSUDH was able to pull away to lead 41-34 at halftime.

The Toros held at least a three-point cushion for the entire second half and grabbed their largest lead, 60-49, on a Henry layup with 9:24 remaining. The Coyotes made it a five-point game with less than a minute remaining, but the Toros were able to sink the necessary free throws to prevail by six.

CSUDH will stay on the road and face Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 7: 30 p.m. for its next matchup.
