CARSON - Trailing by one at halftime, the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team scored its first goal of the season to equalize, but in the end Point Loma was able to come out on top with a score with a little over seven minutes remaining. The Toros drop to 0-2 overall. The Sea Lions improve to 2-0.

CSUDH fell behind after a PLNU score in the 16th minute from Hunter Loomis. The Sea Lions had a 9-6 shot advantage in the first 45 minutes.

The Toros regrouped in the second half and evened the score, 1-1. In the 75th minute, with 15:03 left on the clock, junior
Steven Espinoza received a ball on the right side of the box from senior
JD Hauenstein. Espinoza rifled one with his right foot to the left-side of the net over the outstretched arms of PLNU goalkeeper Connor McEwen.

Almost eight minutes later, the Sea Lions earned the game-winning goal with another score from Loomis. CSUDH held PLNU to just four attempts in the second half and the two teams were even, 13-13, on shots for the full 90 minutes.
