Dreyer Fans Nine in Series Finale Loss to Pioneers

HAYWARD – The Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team fell behind within the first two innings and could never recover as the Toros fell 11-6 to Cal State East Bay in the final game of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series Sunday.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- After the Toros (12-22, 11-21 CCAA) went down quietly in the first inning, the Pioneers (14-19, 11-16 CCAA) quickly went to work on starter Jesse Villalobos by putting up five unanswered runs on the board.
- Dominguez Hills did cut the five-run deficit down to three when Crisosto hit a two-out single up the middle to score in Domenic Colacchio and Jeremy Ciolek.
- East Bay responded in its half of the second with four more runs to take a 9-2 lead and put the game out of Dominguez Hills' reach.
- Dreyer had the best outing of his Dominguez Hills career, throwing a season-most 4.2 innings and striking out nine. He also gave up an unearned run and walks.

UP NEXT?
