SAN BERNARDINO - Cal State Dominguez Hills split a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) softball doubleheader against Cal State San Bernardino, Saturday at CSUSB Softball Park. The Toros took game one by a final score of 9-2 and fell in the night cap, 6-5. Combined with Friday's doubleheader split, the two teams split the four-game series, 2-2.
 
CSUDH is now 25-17 overall and 19-15 in conference play. CSUSB is 24-16 overall and 18-14 in the CCAA.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros scored all nine of their runs in the first three innings.  
- CSUDH got off to a 4-0 start thanks to one RBI each from senior Rachael Sandoval and junior Chenoa Au, and a two RBI single from freshman Kelly Monroy.
- The Coyotes answered with one in the bottom of the opening frame to shrink the margin to three. CSUDH started to pull away with three runs in the second. Au hit a two RBI base hit and freshman Amanda Canizales recorded a sacrifice fly.
- A sacrifice fly from senior Damari Simon and an RBI single from senior Jazmin Guzman increased the Toro lead to 9-1. The Coyotes were able to score one run in the fourth to account for the final score of the game.
- Sophomore Alyssa Olague threw all nine innings and struck out four Coyotes.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros got off to a hot start once again with four runs in the opening frame. Simon scored on a Coyote error. One run came in on Au's single and two more on Monroy's base hit up the middle for a 4-0 lead.
- The Coyotes got one back in the bottom of the opening frame. CSUSB took the lead for good as the Toros allowed four across the plate in the third and one more in the fourth for a 6-4 advantage.
- Senior Rachael Sandoval was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fifth as CSUDH cut the margin to one.
- The Toros were able to load the bases once more in the top of the seventh, but couldn't get in the game-tying run.
 
UPCOMING
The Toros will face Cal State San Marcos for their final series of the regular season on April 26 and 27. Saturday, April 27 will be the regular season finale and Senior Day.
