CARSON - Cal State Dominguez Hills needed two comeback wins against Cal State East Bay to sweep the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) softball doubleheader by scores of 5-4 and 6-5 in nine innings, respectively, Friday at Toro Diamond.

The Toros improve to 22-14 overall and 16-12 in league play. The Pioneers drop to 10-28 overall and 6-20 in conference action. CSUDH leads the four-game series 2-0.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- Down one run, the Toros scored two runs to take a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Junior
Jade Loe hit a single to start things off. Then junior
Chenoa Au and senior
Damari Simon drew walks to load the bases. Senior
Jazmin Guzman hit the ball up the middle in the next at bat to score Loe and Au.

Jessica Olvera allowed a lead-off hit in the top of the seventh, but retired the next three in order to earn the win.
- CSUDH scored four in the bottom of the second to take a 4-0 advantage. Senior
Rachael Sandoval and Au got base hits to put runners on first and second. Sophomore
Chloe Wenger hit a double to right center to get Sandoval and Au in. Simon crushed the ball in the next at bat over the center field wall for a two-run homer, her eighth of the year.
- CSUEB scored two in the third and three in the sixth for its five runs.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- CSUDH walked-off the Pioneers in game two in the ninth inning. Junior
Jessica Lane reached on an error and sophomore
Kelcy Telles singled through the left side to move Lane to second. Freshman
Kelly Monroy's hit in the next at bat took a bad hop for the CSUEB first baseman as Lane came home for the win.
- The Toros came back from a 4-0 deficit with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to even it up. Junior
Kendelle Messersmith hit a double and Telles recorded a base hit to put runners on the corners. Messersmith touched home plate on a wild pitch and Telles was brought in on Monroy's RBI hit. Loe 's double scored Monroy to cut the margin to one. Loe stole third and scored on Simon's single through the left side.
- CSUEB scored one in the second and three in the third for its four runs.
