CARSON - Cal State Dominguez Hills dropped both ends of a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) softball doubleheader to No. 5 Chico State by final scores of 8-2 and 11-1, respectively, Saturday at Toro Diamond.

The Wildcats stay atop the conference with a 16-4 record and improve to 18-5 overall. The Toros are now fifth in the CCAA with a 15-10 overall record and 13-9 league record.

- Simon homered for the second time in as many games with a shot directly over the center field wall. It is her CCAA-leading seventh home run of the season.Â
- It would be the only score that CSUDH would get as the Toros could only muster two hits the rest of the way. The Wildcats scored two runs in the third to take the lead and added nine in the final three frames.
