CARSON - Cal State Dominguez Hills dropped both ends of a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) softball doubleheader to No. 5 Chico State by final scores of 8-2 and 11-1, respectively, Saturday at Toro Diamond.
 
The Wildcats stay atop the conference with a 16-4 record and improve to 18-5 overall. The Toros are now fifth in the CCAA with a 15-10 overall record and 13-9 league record.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- Down 2-0, CSUDH got one run each in the bottom of the fifth and sixth inning to even the score. However, Chico State responded with six runs in the top of the seventh to account for the final score of the game.
- Senior Damari Simon homered in the fifth inning to cut the margin to one. Wenger doubled to get on base in the sixth inning. A Chico State error forced by junior Jade Loe was able to score Wenger from second.
- Senior Jazmin Guzman started the seventh on the single, but it would be all CSUDH would get at an attempt at a rally.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- Simon homered for the second time in as many games with a shot directly over the center field wall. It is her CCAA-leading seventh home run of the season. 
- It would be the only score that CSUDH would get as the Toros could only muster two hits the rest of the way. The Wildcats scored two runs in the third to take the lead and added nine in the final three frames.
