POMONA - Needing just one win to secure a berth in the upcoming postseason conference tournament, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team narrowly fell to Cal Poly Pomona by a final score of 67-66 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Thursday at Kellogg Gymnasium. The Toros come out of the contest still needing one win to secure a playoff spot. CSUDH drops to 13-14 overall and 9-12 in the CCAA with one game remaining. The Broncos improve to 22-4 overall and 18-3 in conference play.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- Down 64-57, the Toros went on a 9-2 run, capped off by a layup from junior
Ahlisha Henderson with an assist from
Tylore Bell, to even the score 66-66 with one minute remaining. CPP's Dominque Dotson drew a foul on CSUDH with less than a second remaining and knocked down a free throw to win the game.
- The Toros started off slow and trailed 15-5 to start. CSUDH went on an 11-2 run, ignited by a 3-pointer from freshman
Lea Anderson, from there to trail 20-19 at the end of the first quarter.
- CSUDH grabbed its biggest lead of the first half, 33-27, on a 3-pointer from
Destinee Williams with 5:36 left in the second period. The Broncos would push back and make it a one-point game at halftime, 38-37.
- The Toros started the second half outscoring CPP 9-1 to take a 47-38 advantage, their largest of the game. The Broncos responded and once again made it a one-point game, 53-52, with 10 minutes left to go.

PLAYOFFS?
- CSUDH is currently in a four-way tie for fifth place (9-12) in the conference standing with Chico State, Cal State San Bernardino and San Francisco State. One game behind the four-way deadlock is Sonoma State and Stanislaus State with an 8-13 record.
- The math is simple for the Toros. With just one game to go, one win will earn them a berth to the CCAA Tournament. A loss in the upcoming regular season finale and the Toros will be scoreboard watching.Â
